FAQ
Frequently asked
questions
Didn't find your answer? Ask us during the free express consultation
How long does registration take?
Registering the LDA itself takes 3–5 business days once the documents are ready. A full launch with a bank account, accountant and tax-office activation usually takes 2–4 weeks
What is the minimum share capital for an LDA?
The legal minimum is €1 per share. In practice we recommend €1,000–5,000 — it makes opening an account easier and builds trust with partners
Do you need to be a Portuguese resident?
No. A foreigner without a residence permit can be a shareholder and director. You only need a NIF; non-residents from outside the EU also need a tax representative, which we provide
Does a company grant residency rights?
On its own, no — but it is grounds for the D2 entrepreneur visa and further legalization. After 5 years of residence, you become eligible to apply for citizenship
What if the company isn't trading yet?
Even a "dormant" company files annual returns (Modelo 22, IES). We match you with an accountant who handles this without your involvement
